I don't know about the rest but my pockets aren't getting stimulated with this package lol.

Thomas jefferson was a smart man, if you read in history he also grew and smoked weed, pretty sad our pot head founding fathers with little to no history and experience started and ran a country better than people today......

California cuts funding for schools more, no summer school at my kids high school anymore and we can't even get them to fix the water faucet to drink out of at the college lol.

To say the least, so far I haven't noticed a single improvement in any aspect regarding funding in anything I personally deal with. I know the banks got a lot of money and bought more banks and a lot of money is flying around without any recordable benefits.

sigh........ Last time I heard california unemployment was at 9.5%, that's 1 out of 10 people without a job..WTF.

That's sad all those people struggling because people running our country are always taking care of everything else besides it's own people.

Personally, and this is my opinion, I don't think there's a remedy for the situation we're in right now. I think a lot of people relate this recession to the depression back in the 1920's and realize Hoover's idea of volunteerism, or the "hands off" approach, didn't and won't work. But the misconception here is, it's the "hands on" that caused this mess and by intervening anymore than we have already will only make matters worse.

For instance, the stimulus package. Obama sugarcoats the stimulus bill with a feeling of hope and prosperity, when realistically it's digging us into a deeper hole. The money used for the stimulus package is not only coming from the taxpayers, but other countries as well. Last time I checked, people don't hand away money for keepsake. So eventually, after things seem stabilized, the economy will quickly crumble and bring us back to where we started.. if not worse.

I guess it's all a matter of perspective. I definitely think families and households look forward to their stimulus package in the mail, but with the market the way it is, who's going to spend it and put it into circulation?

It's all a bunch of fing BS. Our government has been bandaiding our economy for years with packages and programs that do what, fail. They create a package, when we spend how much over in Iraq and Afghanistan every day and borrow money to fight a war, which has been going on for how long off and on 2,000 years?

Create more jobs my ass, for who? Every single person I know is worried about losing their jobs and I know a lot of people out of work. Gas is still expensive, food and housing is very high in California, our state gives jack sh*t to schools for education. A lot of people got rich and a whole lot more people got poorer.

Look at how fk'd stuff got when we had flooding in Louisiana, it took days to help people, and people sat their and died in the street. Who is going to help anyone when you can't get a welfare check or assistance because there is no more funding. It's very, very sad how bad things are and people don't seem to understand just because it hasn't happened to them yet.

Sh*t rolls downhill and our government created a landslide and it's coming.

I think you hit the nail on the head bro.

You know what would be a novelty? Bringing home the troops we have scattered throughout the world. I understand that quickly retracting our forces could make things a lot more hectic, but that's because of the US! If Afghanistan was the fire, we'd be the arsonists. I remember reading somewhere that the afghan approval rating of American troops was somewhere in the single digits. We have, by far, the largest military budget of any other nation but it's being tossed away on savage reformation projects lol.

Creating jobs might help, but then we're essentially doggy paddling to keep our heads above the surface. The only rational way to go about this situation is to let the bad companies go under and try to pursue productive working. First, which won't happen, is the government needs to stop wasteful spending and maybe even cut taxes. Everything would get worse, but the foreseeable future would be much more promising.

How many other nations in the world post up military bases in other countries? How many African, Russian, Korean, Iranian, Vietnamese bases are in the US? We have bases all over the world. That takes a lot of money and a lot of man power.

When people attack the USA, it's some cokk hole bringing a bomb in car or jacking a plane and crashing into a building or shooting from a car they stole. We have the technology to tell if 75,000 troops are coming to attack our country. There is no prevention of terrorist attacks, someone orders an attack and we will get attacked.

Rule number one, take out your own trash before you worry about someone elses.

It comes down to one thing, the government is completely f'd up and they find any and every excuse to why they can't run our country right. First it was the war on drugs, okay what happened? People still sell and use drugs every single day all over America?

Now it's the war on terror, a group of people come steal planes and crash into buildings and kill people. A horrible thing no doubt, but can someone stop a person right now from getting in their car and driving up to a building full of kids and blowing it up?

Random acts of violence are extremely hard to prevent, people fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan have done what to make our country safer? Someone can still steal planes and make bombs in our country and kill people. I really wish they'd let all those people come home and let those countries fight their own wars.

We have a war going on in our own country. We have gangs, drugs, people getting raped, beat down, poor education, poor economy, failing employment rates, people hungry, homeless and completely fk'd up all over america.

It's time America learns to take care of America, people die every day, at least let them die in their own country if they choose to protect it. I know one thing, no fing Iraq or afghan person is going to come fight to protect my family and friends, so why the hell are we protecting them, they think we're fing scum. Sorry, call me a dikk, but its them or us. We need to take care of US.

^^^ With that I think we need to address that situation at the border with the Drug war going on down there. Its getting pretty serious and people are dying on american soil. Arizona is known for kidnapped capital now and dont get me started on the bordered of texas right around Juares. Why is that situation as important as the war on terror? Thats what I want to know.

I agree 100%. We need to secure, protect, house, feed, educate, employ and provide health care to America before we do sh*t for any other country. Oil in iraq doesn't do anything but put gas in my car. If it would bring the troops home and keep my family safe, I'd fing ride a bike to work.

As Ron Paul says, it's a war on false pretenses that we all supported towards the beginning because we were scared. The US government is a disease and they will continue to rape us until we elect new people to congress.

I think the American people know something is up, people are losing jobs like crazy, everything is expensive and we can see with health care and education and employment the government dropped the ball over a long period of time.

The thing is what can the American people do? We don't really have any power to do sh*t, we get to vote about stuff and hope that there are enough people that share our opinions?

Once we do vote someone we like into office we still have pretty much 99.9% no control over how they spend our tax paying dollars. America is a bunch of flashing lights, the new president wants to help our economy then they spend 150 million on an inauguration?

150 million could have feed and housed who knows how many kids and people from that time to now have starved and died from sickness and hungrer because of our crappy system and it's sad.

Another big problem is that most people are uneducated with whats going on in the world or in politics and the Media takes advantage of that fact. A lot of americans get suckered into voting or supporting crap they wouldnt had they known the truth

Definitely. In fact, what's even more interesting is the money used for this stimulus package is coming from the tax payers and foreign countries! Which the general populous probably doesn't know because the media brainwashes them. I'm sure if you ask your neighbor or even a friend why they voted for Obama or whoever, they'll probably respond with something along the lines of "he's going to make things change". He provided the public with a sense of prosperity that was and is false because he distorts what he actually wants done.

I was told this analogy a couple weeks about which connects perfectly with the current situation:

It's like a heroin addict. Say he starts off shooting 10mg a day and gets addicted. After a while, when he's not high, he starts to get some nasty withdrawals and the 10mg dose no longer works. Two options:

1) He can keep increasing his heroin dose so he's always high and never suffers from withdrawal.... or... 2) He can stop shooting heroin, go through the nasty withdrawal and feel like garbage for a little, but then eventually get better.

A "stimulus" package is like the first option, it's keeping things "okay" for a while, but its going to make things a lot worse when it wears off.

Thoughts?

It's all a temporary hoax. The package isn't enough to fix the economy's problems, only try to hold out on a deeper and faster downward spiral which is on the way.

Like I said in another post, our country has poor infrastructure, it is over populated and our country doesn't produce enough resources or products. We spend more than the country is bringing in.

We import a lot of stuff and exporting is down, we export jobs and we've been at war in a country that's 1/2 way around the world. We dump money daily into the toilet and get nothing but sh*t in return.

How is money going to a few places that you KNOW will be poorly managed and wasted do anything but add to our debt which means more taxes. Look how much spending is down in the average American home. So if people are spending less money how are companies going to hire more people when no one is buying their stuff?

A few government programs aren't going to create the boom in employment and production we need. My advice, stock up on canned goods, water and get a generator and lots of ammo and some good guns for when the lights go out.

What happens when the government can't give out free money anymore?

What happens when people can't afford a home or food?

What happens when people don't have anything left?

They will go after your sh*t. Trust me if it comes down to people starving and homeless, they're not going to feel bad about knifing your ass down in a parking lot and taking what they need.

Take a loot at places like Africa where they ride around and jack people sh*t with machine guns. If it happens some place in the world it can happen here.

Survival of the fittest.

Haha ragen you are a smart man. And isnt it funny Obama's new ideas about how to spend the rich's money, sorry scratch that, the people that pay taxes money is going twards the illegal immigrants and trying to get them health insurance and trying to get national health insurance. WTF is that we should be able to get whatever F****** health insurance we want. And why should we have to pay for other peoples health care when we have our own to think about, especailly in this recession. My dad came home today and said he had to fire 6 people today, and his company isnt very big, maybe 1 or 2 hundred people.

And guns wtf is up with that. whats all this bull s*** about regulating ammo. how the hell is putting cereal numbers on bullets going to crack down on crime. Its not like the people commiting the crimes are actually going to use those bullets. they r going to use the old bullets that everybody was supposed to turn in or whatever he plans on doing with them.

I kno this would be scary but i would like to see what would happen if obama decided to take our guns. Im not saying i want it to happen, i just wanna see peoples reaction to obama tearing up our second amendment.

Good luck collecting millions of guns all over America, what are they going to do go door to door to collect them lol.

The government has a hard enough time trying to figure out how to do a poor job running our country much less getting the man power to pry guns out of people hands.

I don't see Obama getting 8 years in office, I hope not considering he hasn't done much but fail at pretty much every things he's attempted lol.

lol.. ^^ Ain't that the truth. But I guess having Communists write your bills for you can have that effect. His motto is spend, spend, spend and not think about what its causing in the future. Hell there's no thought about the future in anything they do!

Here in the land of Oz we have had two stimulus packages. the first package myself and my wife didnt get it becuase we were classed as earning to much

The second package we got and it really saved us, in total we received $1800 ($900 each) and since then we have been able to keep our heads above water and not worry when a bill comes in or borrow money from our parents

I think the stimulus package is a good idea
