there are absolutely instances that warrant capital punishment. but the criteria shouldn't be "beyond a reasonable doubt" it should be complete assuredness and certainty that the person did such a hianus crime. and by hianus i mean the especially brutal cases. such as ones where the killer buried his victim alive or raped than killed a child. basically crimes where any kind of person who could commit such an act doesn't belong here on earth anymore.

Sure, I think capital punishment is ok. But I think it should be modified slightly. I think that those condemned to die should have all of their internal organs and salvageable tissues harvested and doled out to those who need various transplants.
