With the upcoming election in the US, it's only fitting to have a politics forum in the off-topic section here on BBD. Remember! Keep it civil though, or your threads will be deleted with extreme prejudice. Heated discussion of the candidates and their views is permitted, but if you start personally attacking another member for their views and/or beliefs you're gone. Play nicely and have fun!

Nothing stopping people that aren't in the US from posting here.. I'm sure you all have your own opinions on our candidates too.

This is great, along with the re-arrangement of the site! The site is so much more attractive to the eye now. Someone needs to get this started!

I'm a youngster so I'm not into politics yet, but I do like to read about it occasionally :)

Well its quite simple. There are no quality candidates. It's going to come down to McCain vs. Obama and Obama is going to win. Sadly, I don't think I'm going to vote.

obamas still a better candidate than mccain. I don;t see anything wrong with voting the lesser of two evils.

Ah, i thought something looked different here. I don't think i'll be spending much time in this section because thinking about politics only makes me angry, heheh. But it's good for keeping politics out of the miscellaneous and other sections! I hope this section does well.

I'm not sure who the lesser of two evils is. Anyone who knows me knows I'm into politics. Obama is a socialist and I don't go for that. McCain is like 4 more years of Bush but maybe worse.

Obama will win because he is a wonderful speaker and can sell HOPE. I went to the Obama event knowing I didn't like him and came out inspired by the speech. Then when reality hits I know they are just words.

I liked Ron Paul best.

IMO obama talks the talk, but hasn't presented anything yet.

I know people think Clinton is power hungry and very attention starved, but I feel as though she's done a good job in the past and has a good working relationship with her husband (even with all of his indiscretions).

McCain is a good choice, but the only issue there is that he will perpetuate the Republican goals and keep up with the war. Also that he's really old, but George H.W. Bush was old as well, also Regean was too.

I dunno if I'm voting, but if I do I doubt I will vote for Obama because he's not really saying anything.
