In my opinion Arnold is not only the best but what he did for the sport was amazing. I think BB is where it is today b/c of Arnold. I have his book and if anyone in here doesnt have you should definately buy it. It has helped me out a lot with training and eating.

Arnold is so amazing, it's a pity his legs were not a little more dense Im sure he looks back and regrets that. I suppose he was let down by his genetics(height) regardless he was an awesome bodybuilder WOW

Agreed! Classic lines, not to mention his personality make him the best of all time. Many are bigger, thicker, some taller, but none better. His overall package made him a leader in a sport of followers.

I don't think that Arnold is the best bodybuilder ever, his quads were way too small. Props to him for the most insane chest ever though, no pecs on a modern bodybuilder look even remotely as awesome as his.

am i ever glad they stopped posing and sucking their guts in .... that just takes away from their 'look'...although Arnold was probably a big component in bringing BB into the mainstream......I think today's BB'ers would crush him (in his prime). Just looking at the pics, he doesn't have the bulk or definition of the champs of today....but thats a direct result of the chemicals, training methods and equipment that todays BB's use. Don't take it as me bashing Arnold...but if he were to compete today in the shape he was at his prime....I think he'd have a tough time breaking top 10 at the O.

wow - arnold's physique oozes perfection! I wouldn't tout him as being the greatest bodybuilder of all time though.
there are so many awesome physiques out there, but how he looked is totally unique in a positive way + his way of doing things and succeeding makes him a legend!
most of todays pros look like disgusting breeding cattle - but thats the logical evolution of things... after all BB is a sport and no beauty contest.
so lets step aside and make room for the FREAKS!

I think back in arnolds day the standard for legs was different, i dont think he thought his legs were small, but just right, otherwise he would have definitely made them bigger.

I don't know if we could call him the "greatest bodybuilder of all time". Nobody cares to mention that Lee Haney has won not only the most Olympias, but did so in a consecutive fashion.

I'll propably piss off everyone here..but I think arnold has to be the most overrated and overhyped man in history of mankind, mildly overrated as a bodybuilder and GROSSLY, DISGUSTINGLY overrated as an actor.

Come on people, there were plenty of better physiques there but arnold simply stomped over them just because he was weider's goldenboy and most "marketable".

All that is fine until he comes and competes in the 1980 olympia like a complete douche after announcing his retirement years before to get his 7'th title wich he knew he doesn't deserve, and he knew he WILL take just because he is who he is. That got to be the most assholish thing any guy has done in the history of this sport.
