Eating before bed.

Does it really matter if you eat before bed? I usually workout late because of work, so when I get home it's usually bedtime, and I like to get some carbs in after my workout. So is there a problem in doing this?

It does not matter...in fact, u NEED to eat before bed to make sure you get your last dose of protein in before u go to sleep for 8 hours.
As for eating carbs as u have just finished working out, it is okay to have carbs before u go to sleep especially after you work out as i believe layne norton has said that it's not the things u eat at certain timings that makes you fat, it's the total calories that makes u fat...however, don't just down a protein shake with dextrose and go to sleep, if you want, u could have the shake then wait an hour later and have another proper meal.

You will need carbs after your workout to replace what you used. Otherwise your body will look for energy elsewere such as bodyfat and muscle.

Your body goes catabolic overnight. Eat a meal with some sort of casein to avoid this.

Hes asking about carbs before bed guys. Which normally i would say no dont do it but you do need your carbs after the workout just try to get them in asap after the workout and before bed

ha my bad i didnt even read the post. ya pwo meal always important, eating before bed helps alot of people sleep better anyway

I usually have to work out late too so I know what you mean. I like to have my pwo shake with a carb immediately following my workout, hit the shower, eat a good protien meal, go to sleep, wake up to a morning shake immediatley followed by breakfast. Lol I know you didnt want a book but as important as ALL your meals are for growing muscle, those are the ones that I feel mean the most to me. Thats just me though.
