So let's hear what you folks do to stay sane when you're dieting?

I have recently discovered club soda/sparkling water. An ice cold glass has the carbonation that reminds me of a beer (which I drink to quickly to taste most times anyways...lol) and with a bit of lime it really helps on a hot day. Almost feels like a reward.

What about you folks?

yup discovered club soda last month. Good with a squeeze of lemon too. Keto killed me ive never had cravings so bad for fruit in my life. All I could do was smell fruit. and so satisfy my chip craving I would just lick the chips and throw out the chip.

At night before i go to bed, i take my casien protien and constitute it with water untill its a pudding like substance, maybe a little runnier. Pop it in the freezer for a half hour, its like eatting chocklate moose. SOOOO DAMN GOOD!!!

Or do a half and half mix of casien and cottage cheese and consitute it with water untill somewhat runny, then pop in the freezer and eat like ice cream a half hour later.

The biggest tip I have is to drink something which has zero calories and that can satisfy your sweet tooth. Xtend works wonders on a cut. While I have heard some studies showing that BCAA's can discourage muscle protein catabolism (I might have this wrong as I am tired at the moment), just the flavor of their watermelon or apple really helps while you are waiting two more hours for your next meal on a cut.

Also, using zero calorie seasoning help as well with chicken breast / tuna fish / egg whites. And allowing yourself a cheat meal every week or two greatly helps.

**** not sure how to do this. For me its like I can remember even better. For me its actually good. I want something for so long and when I finally allow myself to have some its usually not as good as I remembered it. Thats what happened with chips. Im not a huge sweet person but love salty stuff. My boyfriend would always eat chips around me and on keto I couldnt even eat a couple so that why I licked a couple lol just to get the taste. When I finally ate chips like and month and half later on a carb day I was like meh not even that great. Icecream usually tastes as good as I remember it, no forgetting how good that one is.

I agree with Freak on this one, but while cutting I enjoy salsa, diet soda and sugarless gum.

The real trick is to find good seasonings that don't contain sugar.

I recently starting making all my green beans and other veggies steamed with a chicken or beef bouillon cube in the mix. It gives it a good flavor and adds next to nothing concerning caloric intake.

What about you folks?
1. Find ways to eat exactly what you want. For instance, when I do CKD sometimes I wake up and have a big steak and onions, buffalo wings, eggs and spam, fried cheese.

2. Win the mental game. When you diet and get a craving, don't barter with yourself. Don't say "I'll just have a bit then stop" most likely you won't, find something else to do when that happens.

3. Learn to like other things. If you don't like a food figure out how to cook it in a way you'd like it. I really don't like broccoli or spinach, but I figured if I could cook it through just so that its heated in some garlic I like it.

Lots of green leafy vegetables (or other low calorie high volume foods to make it seem like your eating more then you really are).

Not cutting Calories too quickly.

Using a reward system for just making it through a day. Like once or twice a week i'll reward myself to salmon (which is obviously diet food but just not exactly the cheapest, so it seems special and gives me something to look forward to), or one or two diet sodas a week (yes diet but if you have them often they dont seem like a reward, limiting them to once or twice a week makes them seem special). It just helps break up the monotony.

Lots of water mostly and the occasional coffee or greentea.

Refeeds.

and how long can this meal go on for?? hehehe cuase you know greeks and lots of european countrys kinda do these little dishes that keep coming out and coming out... but its one meal! Good way of doing it tho UC.

I just started ckd again so we get one refeed day a week which people call cheat day but it really isnt. One reason cuase your not suppsed to eat fat and carbs together. Only good thing I can think of other then fruit that is not fat and carb together is icecream buut im pretty sure your not supposed to eat that.
