im dieting and trying to lose my gut. i started the diet at the end of january and my weight was 276 lbs. my goal weight is 220-225lbs. i work out 6 times a week for a half and a half each day. i run on the tread mill mondays wensdays and fridays for 45 minutes on each day. i focus on my chest arms and abs more than anything. but buy the middle of march i was down to 250 lbs and i have been there ever sense ocassionally ill be 247lbs. and it is frusterating me. i am noticably getting stronger but i cant seem to get rid of the lower belly fat and love handles, my lower back fat also. i do take Leucine-xt its a dietary supplement. i only eat 2 meals a day, but my metabolisim seems to be in high gear and im hungry all the time even with the little amount of meals i do eat. my question is what do you think im doing wrong? any tips or pointers?

2 meals a day first of all. go six small meals, craves hunger and keep metabolism up. focusing on chest arms and abs is also a mistake. you need to incorporate every body part, especially LEGS. they are essential to losing wiehgt and gaining muscle. working legs has been proven to raise hormone levels. also, legs are roughly 48% of all muscles in your body. i would cut the 45 minutes to two smaller sessions of about 20 mins each. one morning, one afternoon. will work well for energy and metabolism, and at same time will allow you to train more intensely than on a 45 min cardio sesh. what is your actual diet like? bf %? seems like youve already lost alot of weight, when did you start? how long did it take?add some more info and the posts will be more helpful.

the bf % was 34% when i started..havent looked sense. i started at the end of january. january 27th is the exact date. it took me only a little more than a month to lose the 26 lbs. now i seem to leveled off and cant lose more than a pound or 2. i dont know if this really helps all that much but i drink about a gallon and a half or water a day. will drinking those appiette(sp) filling shakes help at all instead of eatting 6 small meals? i eat lunch which is typically a grilled chicken breast on wheat bread with no toppings or sauce with a bottle of water. and for dinner its usually some sort of rice and a glass of water.

i think one of those shakes could prbly substitute for a meal or two, i would try to get 4 actual meals in tho. thats alot of weight in a month, but i guess its just the initial shock that did it to your body. you really need more calories in your diet. seems as tho your body is in like a hibernation mode. if you dont eat enough, your body will store fat as sort of an instinct. i would go to 1,700 cals a day if i was you, with a refeed every 10 days. you really need variety as well, your body will be lacking lots of nutrients if you only eat chicken and rice. i really cant stress enough that you need calories and healthy diet to lose weight. the pounds will start to come off again, take it slow, about 2 lbs a week max and you will be fine.
