How much protein to take in before bed??

Hey guys I was curious on how much protein to take in right before bed? I have 100% casein protein, and a serving is 24g of protein.. didn't know if 48g would be too much, thanks for the help.

24g will be fine IMO but you can take 48g if ya want.....doubt it will all be absorbed but cant really hurt....other than extra calories equals extra stored nutrients...which can lead to fat gain but....

^ Agreed with stalion, consume healthy fats before bed with your casein (nuts, oils, etc.) rather than the extra scoop.

During my first cycle I was so paranoid about getting enough calories down that I would wake up in the middle of the night hungry and down gainer, lol. A lot of the time before bed, too. Oh, man... Sure don't do that anymore.

have u calculated ur protein intake for one day? if u do then see how much u should add..... example lets say ur 100 kilo lets say u should take 2 grams protein per kilo .....100 x 2 =200 grams....then look at ur daly food calculation and if u take less then 200 add as needed to get 200!

this is example u deside how much protein u will take per kilo or lb and make ur calculatiuon :) sory about the kilo and grams but im not from us or uk :)

and yeah nuts r good befor bed
weight gainer before bed yeah that means fat :) hah

I believe 24g is enough. 48g may burden your stomach but I am not sure. Its opinion.

The normal recommendation is 1g of protein per pound of lean bodyweight and even that is just a guide. There is no reason why your body could not absorb a 48g portion that's just bro science and not based on real facts. Work out how much you need for a day and spread that out for all your meals.

We should not take the high quantity of the protein to take in before bed. There is only one and important reason behind it and the reason is that calories burning process becomes slow during the sleeping and this can be the reason of the fat.

1g of pro per lb of body weight is BARELY maintenance for me. I need a min of 1.5 per lb it seems. But I do a fair amount of cardio so that could play a role.

Any reason why he shouldn't just take his 1 scoop with a glass of milk? All Casein, some 'real' food, and 24 + 12 = 36g for bedtime. filling, and a happy medium. I do this every once in a while.

I think we should not take more proteins before going to sleep because at the time of sleeping the ratio of burning calories reduce. Try to use the liquid food at night.

    Hi.
nice post.yes i agree casein protein is thick and slow digesting so according to me 1 serving of casein shake is enough before bed but you can consume extra protein shakes in day time try to consume 1g protein per pound of bodyweight..
    regards
