So they were handing out free samples of "sport beans" at my college today. They look exactly like jelly beans, but they have some B & C vitamins and electrolytes. They claim to improve bike riders' times in a simulated 10k road race compared to riders who took just water, sport drinks, or sport gels.

I'm wondering if there is any validity to this product, considering the first two ingredients are sugar and corn syrup, AND that it's made by Jelly Belly.

I think I have seen those at the counters at Dick's Sporting Goods before. Never picked up a pack and really looked at it before.

They taste pretty good and give me a good energy boost when I workout, I'm just wondering if they're doing more harm than good.

I tried them before, my g/f's mom gave them to me she must have gotten a free sample too, I am sure they are just full of sugar, I was wired too. My guess is they are slightly better for you than candy a free sample is cool but I wouldn't eat them very often.
