Stupid scale question

So I've been thinking about this for a few hours... a breakthrough, sadly though in one part.

So I look at the nutritional label on my whole grain bread and it says there are 22g of carbs in it. Fine. Now I weigh it on my scale and it says the slice weighs 42g. What does this mean? That the serving is a half for the carbs? That doesn't make sense b/c I think it would say that on the label if 1/2 slice was a serving...

So I've been eating roughly double the carbs I should be... that's the sad breakthrough part.

if there is 22g of carbs in 100g of bread
and if one slice weights 42g.
let say that 22g is 100%
and 42g is 42% of bread you eat so.....22x42/100=9.24g of carbs is one slice

I don't know if that math is right.... going to have to think about it.

Concerned atm with carbs. I feel so stupid for not weighing my foods earlier.

I'll make it painfully easy for you.

Different foods are more or less calorie dense. Thats it. WATER, FAT and PROTEIN intake make up the REST of the WEIGHT.

Grams of protein, fat or carbohydrates in any particular food don't directly relate to the weight.

More of an easy example.

10 pounds of ON protein has 160 servings
Each serving say for delicious strawberry is 110 calories
160X110=17600 which is not close to 10 pounds

Its not quite 10 pounds of fat. Could be turned into 5 pounds of fat.

And if it was all muscle it would easilly turn into 20 pounds of muscle.

Read the labels, stop overthinking.

Different companies have different serving sizes for their food. You don't find a general amount and apply it to ALL bread.

Arnold Country White bread, 43 grams per a serving, 22 grams carbs per a serving, 1 slice is a serving.

Wonder Bread, 43 grams a serving, 18 grams carbs per a serving, 2 slices per a serving.

Only thing I would weigh on a scale would be some type of meat (chicken/steak/turkey), cause I buy them in bulk, to find out the piece.

if you get sinlge packs the weight of the piece is there.

If it comes in a package with a label go with that they are going to steer you wrong. it would be lawsuits everywhere by the obese claiming false advertising about the servings made them fat
