dude
i started smokin when i was 8 years old
i wuz up to and over 2 packs a day by 15 start trying to quit at 16
it took me a year to cut to half a pack.
i feel for you man.
i been through it.
i just worked my way down to 7, then 5, and so on.
and the deal is when u can kill the habit
the addiction seems less prevalant.
find other shit to do, chew a ass of gum, and whatever it takes.
eventually when i got down to 1 or 2 a day, i started forgetting to have my 1 or 2 a day
and eventually quit.

idk of ne herbal methods.

the hardest part is when u get n the car.
cuz thats almost 100%, the most likely time people have a habit to grab one and flick the bic.

the biggest thing that helped me
was listening to different music for a while.
like real chill music that i used to smoke to all the time
just made me need one uncontrollably.
if you have that problem,
listen to some totally different music for a while.

I stopped cold turkey, it's not for everyone, but if you value your life and health more than the cig's. Then the choice is clear what to do.
