oatmeal or carb drink?

Im currently getting ready for a show and am wondering should i be taking some sort of a carb drink before and after workouts? a drink 1 scoop of ON protein and eat 1/2 cup of oatmeal before and after workouts. would it be better to have a carb drink instead? or something else? i have these meals before and after workouts and after an hour or so after my post workout meal i eat a full meal such as chicken and white potatos. but im mainly concerned that im not eating a proper pre and post workout meals. Please let me know, and remember this is contest prep.

If you are close to contest time within a couple weeks IMO i wouldnt worry about the carb loading before and after a workout.You need to be carb depleting until a couple days before the show.

nah man 9 weeks 3 days. i wouldnt be trying to change much if i was close to show. I want to know everything i need to do way ahead of time.

cool man then you ok.i would do either one maybe oatmeal before and the other after just for a change just before to keep track of your total carb intake

well i use to drink called pure vitargo by professional supplements and i really like it. It tastes awsome and its reputation was pretty good. When i was dieting for my show 2 years ago i took it and it seemd to work really well especially when i was carbing up for my show. Just ate it out of the jug.

Isn't that a WMS predominantly?

No studies show that WMS is superior to dextrose and maltodextrin pwo. Who gives? Works for you, then great! I'm looking into a post training glycogen replenishment supplement also after comp.
