Cardio - low or high intensity for fat burning

I get mixed suggestions about this from different trainers at the same gym.

While doing cardio, is it better to go balls out, low enough to keep at your target heart rate, or a fluctuation between the two?

Look up HIIT. It stands for High Intensity Interval Training.

definitly HIIT, it will burn fat hours after you are done running, if done probably, but I would have one day of Light Intesity though.

and here's the first battle!!!

well, i've talked to Bob Chicorello from bodybuilding.com. for those of you who do not know him, he's the host of the website and has done COUNTLESS interviews with different bodybuilders. he too is a professional bodybuilder.

well, i asked him about this personally and he said that EVERY bodybuilder he's seen doing HIIT or balls to the wall cardio for a show, comes in lookin' a little flat. people have told him that bodybuilders actually looked good doing HIIT and he agreed but he also said that that same bodybuilder looked fuller when he was doing slow cardio.

he says this is how a bodybuilder holds on to their size or at least one way.

honestly, y'all say not to look at the pro bodybuilders because they are different blessed with elite genetics and are on massive amounts of drugs, but i disagree. even so, these guys have been though it many times and know exactly what to do. i've found that many of the pricipals that work for the pros work for me as well.

if you see their training videos, you don't see very many bodybuilders doing high intensity cardio. it's all slow paced stuff.

yes light intensity, slows the loss of muscle compared to a HIIT, how did you get to talk to him?

just go to the ifbb pro section and he has his own thread. he's a little breif with the answering cuz he got so many so don't type out a page of a question lol.

yeah he's cool and knows a shit load about bodybuilding. moreso than many pros.
he's written a couple articles on bodybuilding.com.

it's cool because he's like me. streight forward and knocks down the myths that people say.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll definitely search the boards for HIIT info.

Also....would HIIT style training do good in conjunction with a ketogenic diet?

yes it would be combining to great way of fat burning together
HIIT would be say 1-2 min of a steadier slow pace, than 30 seconds of a full out sprint. do that for say 10-20min.
