Good read.

Iodine is added to the salt here in the US, so its doubtful that iodine deficiency is the culprit here.

Also, tyrosine is used in forming the thyroid hormones (among other adrenal and neurotransmitting hormones). 500mg of tyrosine 2-3x a day has been part of my regimen for a few years now.
