Dose anyone know how many oz. of water dose it take to flush out a mg. of sodium. For example if I took in 250 mg of sodium how many oz. of water do I have to drink to flush it out.

im not quite sure how much but hot water with lemon works great to flush it out, you could also look in diuretics

allstar5461 i drink alot of water now close to a gallon a day but was not sure if there was a scale to go by.

well as long as your drinking a lot of water it would be flushing it out as good as possible but try the one glass of warm water and lemon once a day

im going to try the water an lemon. i dont think i can take going to the bathroom any much more that im going now

well as long as your peeing alot and its not yellow or smells you should be fine, i dont think theres a set amount to flush out sodium

1 gram of extra sodium will hold onto roughly 10 grams of water.

With that in mind I think the most effective way to eliminate extra sodium from your body is to simply sweat it out and restrict how much sodium you are getting above what is needed. I had a problem with water retention a while back because I doused all my food in hotsauce all the time and put salt on it to boot.

they have low sodium hot sauces not many though, but they are still pretty high in sodium
