Water weight from creatine and subcutaneous water are two separate things all together. Water from creatine is held in the muscles while water from bloat is held under the skin and is accompanied by sodium, hence the reason why too much salt in a diet will cause a water weight gain. If you go into a sauna you will sweat and let go of the extra sodium.

You definitely don't want to try to dehydrate yourself however.

Well its not hopeless to lose weight persay, just the weight loss is going to be circled around excess water thats held in the body instead of shedding pounds of fat.

I was really relatig this to guys who want to look defined and go into the sauna to lose weight, it doesnt work because the body retains water and you end up looking bloated, same as when you shave your body too near a show or use the sunbed. I was thinking about this later and maybe someone can add to this.but if your body is utilsing energy to try to maintain the body's core temp then it is having to work harder and therefore is using more energy. so IMO some of the weight lost would have to more tham just water!

I don't think the need for the body to regulate body temperature would increase metabolism in a sauna situation. Now in a cold environment the body has to increase heat to maintain core temperature so metabolic rates would change. In a hot environment the body sweats in order to lower temperature.

If the sauna effected metabolism I think it would be more likely that it would be due to the body's physiological changes such as increased blood pressure/rate, heat being vasculating and all. But then again, any increase in metabolism would probably be negligible at best. Everywhere I look I've only found increases as high as 20 percent.
