The better brands like ON (Optimum Nutrition) are made better to blend better and is a quick release protein.

Depends. Check ingredients, and if you're skeptical about nutritional values, make a reference to the nutrient ratios. Some, like GNC brands, have terrible ratios.

Eg: Their weight gainer. Has 404g of Carbs and 55g of Protein. To me, that's not a protein : carb ratio I'd want, but everyone's different. Some also mix better than others and some taste chalky.

Choose a reputable, lower priced protein.

arent there also differences between whey isolate and whey concetrate, etc? Ive heard that isolate is the quickest to be digested.

True isolate is the quick release and the concentrate is the slow release

BSN's Syntha-6 pretty much has every kind of whey and casein, and it's moderately priced. I see no down side

most proteins come from the same factories where they make mass production of protien, but they sell it in different stages. the more hydrolyzed they whey peptides are the more bio-availability they have which makes it a better protien (more protien to the scoop) and quicker acting, thus making it expensive.

I agree with anthk, not alot of companies produce their own stuff, just look at the amount of protein per 100g, abv the more the better, Hydrolyezed and Isolate proteins are the most expensive and probably the best quality.

milk is a good source of whey and casein, but a lot of people just straight up use it for casein purposes
