Hello Guys, I have a quick question for you all. I have been using USN, now SCI-MX Pure Protein for a very long time and I see alot of people going on about 100 Whey (ON) which I am half tempted to try. Was just wondering what you guys thought about both proteins and my situation?

people around here love ON products. They'll never stop pushing them.

IMO there's not much of a difference.

If you want an all around protein go for BSN's Syntha-6. It has all kinds of whey, casein, and a good protein to carb ratio

I think im going to stick with sci-mx pure protein for now as it offers a massive 4o grams per shake including 10 grams of glutamine in every shake and for the amount of protein im trying to get into my diet at the mo 22 grams ON offer would leave me just under what I want.
Was just wondering because im trying to cut but still keep the muscle I have and I have just heard alot of comments that 100% whey is best for cutting?

whey protein gets absorbed fastest so it's ideal post-workout

syntha 6 is not ideal for all as it is a little high in fat. but i taste good. go-figure.

casien protein absorbs slower.

optimum whey is a protein source i swear by. true mass is an excellent weightgainer if you're looking for that sort of thing by BSN

Have you figured out how much protein you need in a day, as well as your macro breakdowns? 40 g of protein in one minimeal is fine but it depends on how much your body needs and then how you spread that number over your minimeals.

Milk is a lactose; disaccharide containing a molecule of galactose and a molecule of glucose. So, it is a moderately-glycemic carb which could potentially result in an insulin spike. That said, it is a simple carb. And the protein to carb ratio (if drinking milk for the protein content) is carb dominant.

There's no best protein per se. Find the one that fits intermittently with your macro-nutrient breakdown. So, depending on your diet and goals, check the supplement facts and figure if the amount of nutrients is right for you. For that reason, I prefer ON Whey; relatively moderate nutrient to nutrient ratios.

Also, cosign everyone else.

Do you know what Glutamine actually does? Or are you going off hype. Glutamine has been debunked numerous times by Zir Red before and i havent seen any counter-arguments.

Also, Whey protein is for post workout nutrition. The protein you are taking is for an anytime meal but not really optimal for post workout.
