Hey guys, I read Layne Norton's post about the pre-contest advice (I'm cutting). He suggest consuming a shake composed of 30-40g of whey protein along with dextrose or maltodextrin during their workout.

My question is, could I just drink skim milk instead of protein shake and dextrose during workout?

Thanks,
- Ian

milk could sour in the stomach and you could puke it up.

The body temperature rises and the milk has a much higher chance of showering than the other things.

I tried drinking a cup of milk during workout yesterday, and my stomach felt fine.

I want to know if the carb & protein that you get from drinking milk (though you get lesser protein) are similar to those you get from consuming protein shake & dextrose (ones you take during workout)?

Layne recommends to take simple carb during workout to prevent muscle breakdown.
