I've tried about half a dozen brands but the minimum I will accept is 20 grams protein. All of the 'more protein' bars like 22 g up to the biggest I've seen, a MetRX has 32 g protein, have high levels of saturated fat, like that MetRX one has 7 grams of sat fat. Imho, that's a lot, esp if you're trying to cut, like me.

Ideally, I suppose I should have no saturated fat in any meals or supps, but why do the high protein bars have so much sat fat as well as calories? Am I just finding shitty products or is this the way it is with protein bars?

There's one that's got 32g of proteins, but it has a lot of sugar. It's pretty cool though. I forget the name, but i'll try and find it for ya.

Protein bars are typically used as a meal replacement instead of what we use it for. It's like a whole meal for people.

If you are truley on a cut, you will be starving after eating a bar. Those bars will just make your cravings terrible. Usually on a cut its oatmeal+protein, because oatmeal keeps you more full longer. Plus its good for you.

I'm gonna sound really hypocritical now. I'm not against eating them but, why do ppl eat bars? Stick to whole foods. If you need a quick meal or nutrition boost, have a shake followed by a meal as soon as you can. I have 2 boxes of those CNP (Dorian Yates approved) Flap Jacks & a box of Metrx bars but, I never eat the things. These bars are just for lazy ppl IMO bro, you're better off without them. (Although some of them taste great LOL) The only time I carry a couple is when we all go out to clubs etc...Whilst everyone's eating MC Donalds or KFC on a night out, I'll make do with a bar. BUT that's the only time I'd have them.

On that note, they have high nutritional values, even when they appear to be low on carbs, they're not something I'd eat on a cut.

Yeah it's hard to get off the sugar and shit, it's like withdrawl. The only cure I've been able to see is plenty of water and HIIT. HIIT just wears the heck out of me, and then I'm just ashamed to even think of eating a bar after working off 400 calories.

I use Bars for cheat meals, It is the only way to keep myself sane, or I go with Vitamin shoppe pro pudding. But far as bars, go with WORLDWIDE nutrition, close to no sugar, but a lot of sugar alcohols.

Eating a protein bar isn't exactly a cheat meal bro. If you're going to have a cheat meal have a proper one & enjoy it. Pizza hut works for me
