*Notice*I may come off as a sales man, but i just want yall to give this book an honest look. Everyone that has read through it at my apartment is really intrigued by it.*End Notice*

This little book is amazing. Now, i dont agree with everything it puts forth, but after reading it literally from cover to cover, it is easily one of the best books for simple nutrition tips and changes that i have ever come across. Its by the Editor in Chief of Men's Health magazine David Zinczenko (I personally love the magazine and site, so detractors, eat me), and it is pretty darn new.

My dad actually came across it and the intriguing thing about it is that it has an entire section dedicated to numerous fast food and restaurants and what to NOT eat and what to eat INSTEAD at those places. Comes complete with many pictures and 4 items to eat (or, arent that bad), and 4 to avoid (or swap). They provide calories, fat, and carbs and sometimes more.

The book also details things like what to eat when hungover, what to eat when you are in need of a wake-me-up, what to eat when you want brain power, or even what to eat (and avoid) when you want to get in the mood (dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream, anyone?).

There is also a section for shopping at the grocery store and what to get (and not get) for cereals, breads, yogurt, candies, nuts and dried fruits, and various other subjects and helpful tips. There is even a section for beer and mixed drinks, and surprisingly, Guiness Draught is one of the beers that doesnt have alot of calories or carbs.

There is even a section for kids, and how to improve their diet.

The book isnt a end-all diet book by any means, but what it aims at is to change what you eat every day by making better choices. You can still go to Burger King, but now you know what to avoid getting (BK Big Fish Sandwhich) and what to get instead (Whopper JR without Mayo). It mentions that following this, you can easily drops 10-15 pounds without even really going on a diet. All you need to do is make simple food swaps at your favorite restaurants. That is it.

The book is only 19.95, and if you give it an honest look at your local book store, im sure you will also agree that the book is well worth the money. I certainly know now that i can actually know what is in the food at AppleBees and make smart choices when my friends drag me out there. Or Taco Bell, or Quiznos, or SubWay, or In-And-Out, or wherever.
