High protein, moderate to low carbs, very little fat. The key is to focus on your monounsaturated fats like vegetable oils, olives, nuts, and avocados. You still wanna get your omega-3 fats from fatty fish and flaxseed. If you don't like or don't eat fish you can buy fish oils from pretty much anywhere. GNC is probably the most convenient. Avoid at all cost saturated and trans fats from processed foods, baked goods, fried foods since they will give you unhealthy fats.

To get those pounds off you need to be eating 2.2 to 2.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight. This will help you keep muscle mass. The extra protein will be used as a backup energy source.

Keep your carbs around 40 percent of your total calories as this is enough but not to much to give you energy to fuel your workouts.

Most importantly eat 5 or 6 meals a day. This will not only keep your body fueled but your metabolism high as well. Also get plenty of water (2-3 liters). Keep sodium under 500mg a day too

^ Somewhat right, nice...

Protein intake should be 1.5-1.8g/lb of bodyweight. Anymore will be stored as fat or adipose tissue. Fat intake should be the moderately high, as you're mainly going to cut down your carbs and caloric intake. Water consumption should be atleast 1gal.

6 meals a day, minimum. Focus on when you consume the nutrients.
