I finished up a hardcore traps and triceps workout, I got in a great workout, then mentally pumped myself up for a 30 min stairclimber fat burner session, and strangely enough, it went by easily! I was all prepared to be completely wasted, but I was pretty much good-to-go for more, but decided against it; 30 mins is my goal and I met it, so why press my luck? Anyways, dripping with sweat and making my grey ARMY tee shirt look like near black, I mixed up my blender cup with 1 cup creatine and 1 cup Whey, making a nasty [chocolate flavored whey and orange flavored creatine] shake. I set a new personal record, I got 350 calories burned in that session, my last best was 340.

My question though, I took the shake after my weights and after my cardio. Should I have taken it after my weights, waited a few minutes then have gone and done my cardio?

That's why I take the Whey, in addition to it's 35 g of protein, I get 120 calories.

Hmmmmm. Well I guess I'll have to look up some fast-digesting carbs.

Okey dokey. From that little list I think it'd be easiest to mix in some dextrose [just googled it now, and I got this] and it looks like I could just mix it up with my shake. How does that sound?

EDIT: And oh, I saw this too, showing examples of both fast and slow-digesting carbs. I think it'd be easier to eat a slice of whole wheat with my whey and creatine rather than going out and buying this dextrose.

A baked potato is not a fast digesting carb. If it has been processed then it is but other wise bagged or loose potatoes are a slow digesting carb. Bananas are really good for a post workout. Some people prefer liquids like orange juice or something of that nature. Vitargo is a great product as well.

As far as taking your supps your doing it right. Had you taken your protein after your workout the protein would have been used during the cardio session. Your body is still anabolic while doing cardio so wait after.

Whole wheat isnt very fast digesting. Go with white bread.

Nutrition Facts and Information for Potatoes, white, flesh and skin, baked

Don't lie to the man, a GL of 29 is fast digesting. Bananas and juice are -not- good post workout as they restore glycogen to the liver glycogen levels and not muscle glycogen.

Hey man I'm just saying what Evan Centopani told me about bananas as a post workout food. He is a pro maybe he's an idiot but I don't think so.

Also then why do about 75% of pros eat baked potatoes when they are in the offseason trying to get bigger? Trey Brewer, Ronnie Coleman, Jay Culter, Victor Martinez. The list goes on....

Because Glycemic Load is related to the food's effect on blood sugar, low Glycemic Load meals are often recommended for diabetic control and weight loss.

So if your trying to gain weight a baked potato is good. Or am I reading this wrong?
