Its not "important" but it sure is a good breakfast combined with a protein shake.Almost the perfect breakfast. It is great carbs and keeps you full.

Oatmeal is one of my breakfast favorites, I have a cup of oatmeal, couple pieces of toast and some hard boiled eggs with a glass of milk or juice and it seems pretty easy on the stomach and fills me up good.

I eat my oatmeal every morning without fail. Also I add a protein shake, 1 glass of Orange Juice and One cup of Gatorade.
Works for me.

I will sometimes add 2 eggs hardboiled when i have time.

Oatmeal has those great carbs you're looking for in the morning and it completes a great morning meal so you can get that spike of insulin in the morning and have energy to start the day

Its cheap and it contains complex carbs which dont cause an insuline spike, it keeps your insulin high for a couple hours as it digest slower, (Opposite of white bread, white rice). I get it in my morning to start my day along with egg whites, whole eggs, and fruits.

It can be taken during the day also, it doesnt have to be in your breakfast. I also take it as a pre work out 1.5 hrs b4 training.

It depends what you have in the cup. A cup is a measure of volume, but a gram is a measure of mass.

Depending on the density of the material you are going to have in the cup, the weight in grams of the material will vary.
