I'm pretty sure glycemic load holds more ground than GI.

To make a point, while he says

Carrots have a GI of 95 (which is pretty high), but don't try to tell me that you'll get fat, get diabetes, etc., from eating carrots!!!

But it's actual glycemic load is 4 (as per estimated by nutritiondata.com), which would put it at the lower end of the spectrum of digestion where 1-10 for GL is slow, 11-19 is medium and 20+is fast.

I would also like to adress several points he made.

I guarantee you that if you are desperately trying to gain muscle, if you go on a low carb diet, not only are you not going to build any muscle weight, but you are actually going to get smaller than what you are already are.

I can't see the logic in this when there are people that actually mantain and do go about to build some muscle while on low carb diets, however in my opinion it's not as effective as a regular diet because of the level of fatigue in the gym.

Regardless of what type of foods you eat and in what combinations, "IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THE CALORIES"!

If I didn't know anything about bodybuilding, I could take that as a suggestion to eat what I may because I will gain muscle regardless.

All in all I don't like the site, it looks like a scam.

Again, after his reference that included creatine and test boosters, ephedra, andro, even glucosamine chondrotin and liver pills which i've never heard to be marketed as weight gainers.

Long list, isn't it? I'm positive you've also tried some of these. And the “kicker” for me was that I would diligently take all of these supplements, along with combining it with all the latest training techniques that were out there………….yet I had no new muscle mass or weight gain to show for it!

Honestly, if someone claims they can't gain anyweight at all on creatine, which should boost the water weight even a smidgen, then to say that test boosters, andro and growth hormone stacks didn't work at all for him to get him past 147 then its a scam.

I wont even get into the prisoners thing he mentioned and how it would be just as easy to sneak gear into a prison as it is to get in coke.

this guy is a idiot the only this i agree with is

but im pretty sure you can find the GI of cooked veggies.

hell yes carrots and cause real problems with people with diabetes and highblood sugar. why just becuase its the one vegtable that parents could get there kids eat means its good for you. mabey when its raw but not when its cooked. same with corn.

GI isn't important, GL is important. As far as i'm concerned GI can pretty much be considered the precursor to GL. Peanutbutter when you put it in searches will always be closer to 1 because of the fat and protein content along with the dietary fiber.

Long lesson short, any time you find an article that's about muscle gain on a small site that's also selling a book thats -not- affiliated with a larger site, the chances are that its a scam.

He's actually hitting on what would be valid points such as mags pushing muscletech and other companies suplements, but he's twisting it around for his own monetary gain.
