Anyone here on the forum just naturally put on muscle without eating the requisite 1gram protein per 1lb bodyweight? I'm convinced that genetics/hormones play a bigger role than most give them credit for. I'm an endo-meso so I put on weight (muscle AND fat) easily without all the excess protein.

That being said...I do feel like crap when I don't consume enough animal protein. Let's run this one through Mythbusters.

Genetics and hormone only carry you so far. 10 men with 10,000 bricks are going to build a taller building then 1 crane with 1000 bricks. Protein is the essential building block of the human body i'd rather have a little too much (if 1 gram per a pound can be too much) than not enough at all.

That is a great analogy to how your body build muscle.

I am now smarter because of that.

I don't quite understand... wouldn't the 10 men obviously build a taller building because they have more bricks?

Well you can add muscle with less protein intake... it will be slow and aggrivating. And if you dont take in enough protein, your body will start to digest itself pretty much.

Now every day I miss a meal I'm going to freak out and feel like my muscles are instantly being eaten away!
