Ive been eating 5-6 meals daily and i work out mon-fri and was wondering if on the weekends i should take in as much protein and follow my strict diet that i do during the week. Weekends are kinda crazy for me and i dont splurge but i dont have the ability to fit in my meals like i do during the week. Does this effect muscle growth? Just wondering. Thanks!

Dont lower the amount of protein or anything in the weekend and try to keep the times on meals as good as you can.

Good Luck

Eat like you regularly do and get all your macros in. Also take in about 1.25 to 2 gallons of sugar free liquids a day. If you do have a cheat meal do it on a day where u do intense cardio or something, but keep it within ur macros and keep it about once to AT MOST twice a week. You'll be aight man, just keep at it.

Since I'm an Ecto... I eat what ever I want on either saturday or sunday, and sometimes both. I stay at 12-13% bodyfat. I think it is just a nice break from the week, which is a strict schedule. I don't think I would be up near 240 lbs if I didnt take a "cheat day" or two. I also can loose the fat over night, which is nice.

Also helps me keep my sanity... Pizza is good for that, they've done research... by "they" I mean myself.

Depends on your body... Thats just my opinion.

Eat Up,

i agree with thewall all the way

strict dieting for prolonged periods of time can drive a man crazy

studies have been shown by me that prove this as a fact

just try not to eat too much nasty fatty foods...such as taco bell and all the garbage

have fun with it man lift hard!

What are you doing on the weekends that makes it hard to consume your meals? If anything, keep a protein bar on you or something.

Sunday's are my cheat day. Usually a lot of sandwhiches and a few boxes of cereal, really what ever I am craving.

In terms of eating on off days, your muscles are still taking up amino's, some studies show more, than on workout days, and you'll still needs glucose to fuel the rebuilding, so don't lower kcals on off days.

Cheat meals will help you psychologically as you need it to keep your sanity ( I do anyways ).

Cheat meals will help your metabolism, taking in more kcals one day than another will help to keep your metabolism guessing so your not staying stagnent.

Its important that you keep up on your diet as we all know you dont grow inside the gym, its when your body is @ rest that is rebuilding itself.

Lift heavy, eat big, get big. Good luck!

Personally, i only have cheat meals here and there. And i usually keep them pretty small. One thing i never miss is some kind of casein protein before bed. On weekends, that might entail everything from slices of cheese to whole milk to various other things.

Sometimes it gets a little slack though, and its definitely harder to keep a routine on a day when you have nothing really planned.
