How bad is smoking when trying to bulk up and gain muscle?? Stupid i know. But if anyone has info that would be great.

breathing can get alot harder lol...and your lungs will be alot weaker so oxygen will not get to your muscles as easily and your pumps will not be as good

It also suppresses apetite and will inhibit growth a lot. I know that Markus Ruhl smokes, but he's also on a lot of gear and eats like a horse. Smoking's just not good in this lifestyle man.

I figured as much. I smoke 2 maybe 3 times a day. Sometimes i don't smoke at all. Trying very hard to quit. I find if i'm always doing something I don't want to smoke, it's when i am sitting around doing nothin i get the urge. Did anyone else hear that bananas are good to help the urge.

I've never heard about the bananas thing, but I have heard that if you do stop smoking there's a chance that you'll replace the addiction with food. IF you are going to do this, then at least replace it with good food in moderation. There's no reason to let anything preventable to affect your training and diet.

It's a hard habit to break.. Your looking for something in your hand,, try chewing gum or doing other things that will get your mind off it for a couple of minutes..You need to try to break the urge..

maybe u should do push ups everytime u want to smoke...do them to exaustion so you wont have enough energy in you to smoke lol

Thats a good idea. I will try the push ups thing. I fing when i want to smoke i will drink water. But it comes back fairly quick. Should of never started. Thats the best way to quit

Don't most people gain weight when the stop smoking because the eat more in place of smoking.? !!! Maybe you should have some clean snacks handy and stop smoking for your bulk cycle. !!! You might be able to quite after the bulking period, you never know, replace smoking with healthy snacks because you will feel better. And might be able to hold off on the smoking because it is working toward making your muscle ( weight) gain target.
Could work as an advantage in overall health and well being. So put down that butt and pick up a chicken breast, can of tuna, protein shake/bar or even a serving of Nuts.

Markus Ruhl used to smoke if i'm right..so it's clearly not impossible to gain when smoking..but ofcourse a little disadvantage
