I'm a decent sized guy (5'10" 205 lbs) with pretty good definition. Because I apparently look like I know what I'm doing, I always have random people come up to me at the gym to ask me bodybuilding questions. Most of the time I can shoot them off a quick answer and get back to my workout. Other times I turn to the dungeon for guidance. lol

I know that most of you bulk for several months then cut for a couple. I do the same. Someone asked me today if "mini-cuts" are good. This person has pains in their shoulder and is going to go light or even take 2 weeks off from upper body. They are currently right in the middle of a good bulking cycle and wanted to know if they should keep up the bulking diet on their little hiatus or ..

IS IT HEALTHY TO SWITCH TO A CUTTING DIET FOR ONLY 2 WEEKS??

This person would then get back to their bulking cycle upon their return from the injury.

Using a cutting diet for a couple of weeks when he's not bulking could be beneficial if he's not training. He wouldn't have to gain as much fat if he were still doing his bulking diet then, but it kind of seems like a set back to take 2 weeks off. He could just as well lower the weight and alter his diet slightly and probably get better results.

Mini cuts are good. Long bulks/cuts aren't especially that good either, hormone wise the longer you bulk or cut the harder it gets as your body tries to maintain an even keel on your weight.
