I was at my local Fred Meyer the other day and saw that they were selling "Nature's Way Metabolic Reset Hunger Control Weight Loss Shake" mix.

Looked like the usual Slim-Fast crap but it said "high fiber and protein, low glycemic index," so I looked at the back.

It's actually not a bad product:

130 cals
22g of whey isolate
7g of fiber (26% RDA)
13g of carbs
the usual smattering of basic vitamins
500mg of calcium (50% of RDA)
280mg of potassium (8% of RDA)

The carbs are some proprietary blend - "Oat Beta-Glucan Concentrate" and "Inulin". It has 118mg of Stevia, which is one of the trendy new fat burners.

Not perfect...there's 1g of sugar and 21g-for-130-cals is not a great ratio (most whey is more like 23g-for-90), but it's nice you get some fiber and low-GI carbs.

Yeah, I didn't mean it as a "Weight loss shake" but as a regular protein shake supplement...

Why would you buy slimfast? How much is that stuff per a can? I would pick something like ON 100 percent whey.

Hey I agree with the guys above- dude, 13g of carbs is a little too much, especially when it's EACH SCOOP! Plus, I have to wonder if the protein is really up to spec... ON Whey is absolutely fantastic, as well as the MuscleAsylumProject FREAK-FIX I'm currently taking. I'll always go back to ON though, it's a real staple!!
