Just wondering how long chicken would last for when youve cooked it? I'm asking because im currently re-doing my diet plans and am needing something to take into school to eat at lunch. I was thinking about cooking it the night before and then taking it in the next day but im not sure if it will still be good by that time?

If you are not going to keep it with any ice probably no more than an hour. But if you pack it in some sort of thermo lunch bag with some ice or a cold pack it would be good until lunch for sure.

If you keep it in some type of lunch box it will be fine. Try not to keep it in anyplace that would be hot if you take out of the fridge in the morning and put it in something it will be fine and since it is already cooked you need not worry about the bacteria on chicken because it has already been cooked off

yeah I cook my food the day before. It will stay cold for the first couple of hours but just get one of those thermal lunch bags with an Ice pak. Should be fine.

Yup, I bring some combination of chicken/milk/eggs/turkey/etc.. everyday in a lunchbox with cooler paks. I cook the food the night before and the coolerpaks keep it cold the entire next day. I have a class that ends at 8:00pm and everything is still cold

Downside is: sometimes I can find a microwave,, sometimes I can't!!
still tastes good cold though!

I generally cook chicken and it keeps couple days (3 max) when its refrigerated. But it does spend around 3 hours in my bag when im in the gym and on my way to work. So far not a problem. Chicken can be dodgy though from I commercial kitchen pov it'll keep for 3 days but its advisable not to re heat it. The key with cooking and reheating food is once its cooked chill it as quick as possible and reheat it thoroughly. This should prevent any bacteria multiplication.

Chicken will stay good and eatible for 1 week in the fridge.. If your going to transport it in your lunch bag get a freezer block from wall mart.. There blue and once frozen will keep food items cold for most of the day.. I use them at my work daily.. I keep the lunch bag with me all day and everything stays cold. Suggestion buy a couple.
