I was wondering how other people cooked/prepared brown rice. I have a small rice cooker and use that, but the texture of the rice is so hard that there must be a better way.
Also when I store it in the fridge for any period of time it literally turns into hard grains, and hurts my teeth to eat!
I know that brown rice is a good bbding food, I just think I must be missing something, cause mine is so bad.
I cook it it the rice cooker with 1 cup rice and 2 cups hot water.
Anyones tips or thoughts would be helpful...

Yup Brown rice has a longer cooking time in the rice cooker than white rice. Either Thats probably why its still hard. They do sell rice cookers where you can change the setting so that the timing is different weather your cooking white or brown rice.

i usually put some smart butter omega (which has 0 carb and 0 cholestrol) with the brown rice in the rice cooker( and it seems that the texture of the rice becomes soft(after taking forever to cook) compared to when you dont. Also there are some brands of brown rice that have instruction on the back how to cook and the one i have says to put butter in it. so i dont know. its upto you but i personally think it tastes better. and the ones i get are usually the cheapest one out there
