I think one, we mistake absorption with the uptake of amino's by our muscles. If our bodies could only absorb a finite amount of food, we would have explosive diarrhea all day long.
The muscle cells can only uptake a certain amount of amino's, the excess is converted by the liver into glucose or acetyl-co a which is either burnt like fat or stored as fat.
The amount your muscles can uptake per meal depends a lot on meal frequency, insulin levels, body size, and previous blood amino acid levels.
