hey bros ive been cutting for 2weeks now and im doing GOOD 1lb a week i feel fantastic better than i ever have. my cutting diet is working ( thanks to help from ya'll) my only question is about my caloric intake im doing a 40/20/20 (p/c/f) and im supposed to be getting bout 2900 cal. im not hitting it, the closest ive come was 2114 and that pushed my carbs a little over. like i said ifeel good im burnin fat and lookin better. i dont think that caloric deficit is a problem a long as im meeting the 40/20/20. what do ya'll think?

not trying to be an arse or anything, but i'm a little confused on your percentages of macro's. you say you take 40/20/20 pro/carbs/fats. where's the other 20% of your macro's. glad it's going well for you, but is that just a typing error or did you forget about something?

ok now im confused. i guess maybe i dont have this figure out i started doing 40/40/20 which was
294g protien
294g carbs
65g of fat
2940 total calories for the day
i posted this and i got a couple of people saying my carbs were too high for cutting. so a trainer at the gym told me the same and i should cut back to 20% carbs.
yeah ur right i am having hell hitting 2940 total cals. the most i can get is 2000-2100
im 245 5'10 not fat (mid section is) training 3yrs.

i would really dig some more feedback on this. i DONT wanna lose muscle.

too many carbs is not the problem, agreed you can't go like 500g of carbs a day, but it's more about timing the carb intake then the amount. read laynes pre contest sticky, great info! can't stress that enough, he has changed a lot of how i prepare for contests now.

if you drop your carbs to 20% i would increase fats to 30% and protein to 50% to make up for the calorie deficit.

his sticky is pretty straight forward, work out your protein and fat percentages and the remainder is allocated to carbs. this is my example of my macros. total daily carb intake is 263g

15% breakfast= 39.45g (low gi carbs)
35% pre-w/o= 92g (low gi carbs)
20% during w/o= 52.6g (consists of dextrose-high gi)
25% post w/o= 65.75g (low gi carbs)
5% from veggies= 13.15g

protein should be spread out evenly throughout the day. and fats should be eaten at low insulin level times, ie. when you don't have many carbs.
