Sodium is not "bad for you."
You need sodium for many many purposes in the body. For your muscles to contract, for your muscles to stay hydrated, to keep blood volume regulated, for nerves to send messages from one to the other, to help your muscles absorb protein, carbs, and fats.
If you exercise, drink plenty of water, do not have hypertension (high blood pressure), and you're consuming a healthy diet and exercising, which I assume you are asking such a question, then there is no need to watch your sodium intake.
Now, if you are hypertensive, eat junk food and inactive, then sodium will contribute to your problems..
