is 326g of carbs to much for each meal on a bulk? (over 6 meals) My caloric intake I want is about 3200cal.

Ill be taking 25g of protien in each meal also, but this number doesnt sound alarmingly high to me (160g/day)

Should I be concentrating on grams of carbs, or more on calories when Im planningmy meals around protien requirements?

Heres my numbers
Fat 64g/day
Protien 160g/day
Carbs 1984g/day (is this too high?)

Someone please tell me Ive made a mistake...

1984*4=7936 cals from carbs. That is outragous man...

You should be eating 326g total in one day not a single sitting.

326*4=1304cals
160*4=640cals
64*9=576cals
Total of 2520 cals a day.

So your about seven hundred cals short. Whats your other stats. Weight height ect...

Use this site to find out what you need on a bulk: EAS.com | ENERGY-ATHLETICS-STRENGTH

ahh thanks for that

my mistake was that I had figured 1984 to be grams of carbs when it was really telling me calories from carbs.
I needed someone to point out my stupidity

now I got;
496g carbs = 1984cal
160g protien = 640 cal
64g fat = 576cal
Total =3200cal

Now that I can do!

My stats are 5'8'', 160lb, 19%bf
Thanks a lot man!

Well man if i were you i would try this instead. So you dont get so much fat gain on your bulk.

416g Carbs=1664Cals
240g Protein=960Cals
64g Fat=576Cals

6 Meals A Day:
69g Carbs Per Meal
40g Protein Per Meal
11g Fat Per Meal

FYI i am 6'1 210lbs and i am going to be consuming about 3500cals everyday on my bulk. So at your size i would think you would need less then that. But i may be wrong. When you figure out your diet, ect post it for suggestions.

Why will he gain less fat by reducing carbs and increasing protein?

Jez: I think your outline looks good. Center the bulk of your carb intake around breakfast, preworkout and postworkout.

Try not to eat high fat and high carbs in the same meal.

Aside from postworkout, your carbs should be from whole grains rich in fiber (look for a fiber:carb ratio of about 1:8).

Consume your omega-3 fatty acids before bed. This should also be your lowest carb meal (less than 5% of daily intake).

Thanks for the feedback,
last time I went and got my bf checked they said it was 19% and I haven't lost or gained any weight since then (that is me in the avatar)

I was also wondering,
If Im taking fish oil capsules to I need to include these as fats in my diet. There's no nutritional thing on the bottle??

Ill post my diet soon once Ive ironed out the details!

oh, thanks a lot for the info about centring the carbs around bfast and wouts, thats the sort of details Im looking for.

An analytical approach...

Excess carbs, protein, and fat turn to body fat. Protein is the hardest to convert to bf while carbs are the easyest. So yes imo more protein and less carbs will make less bf.

Cosign. Most often, when you cut, you up the protein to maintain as much muscle mass as possible. Then lose carbs to lose body fat,

Thanks for the input, I think I might up the protien actually...
Im finding it easier to find and eat good protien sources than finding good clean carbs at the moment.
