Hey all, I looking to cut down. I just finished my career as a shot put/discus/hammer thrower. I am 6' 338lbs. right now. My body fat is between 23--30% ( know its a big range, but its somewhere in there). I am going to start training for bodybuilding now and am looking to try something out. My goals is to get as fit as I can by the Mr. Olympia show this year. So its like im gearing my nutrition towards that show as if I were competing. Obviously my main goal is to drop my bodyfat as low as I can. I was wondering how I should set up my plan? Should I keep my carbs high up until June then drop them down? Or should I just drop them now and try out the Palumbo diet? Any suggestions?

Thanks all

Do you know how many calories you take in on an average day? This is the first factor that needs to be addressed.

Next, what is your activity level like outside of the gym.

Personally, I am not a fan of the palumbo/super low carb diets. Weight training and HIIT are all anaerobic and require carbs for fuel. Nutrient amount and timing will make the biggest difference in your results.

well, since i am done with throwing my schedule will pretty much be getting up early in the morning everyday to do cardio, then go to classes, lift in the afternoon, then if I do have the spare time at night, I will try to do another session of cardio.

Just get your ass on the treadmill, not a bike, not an elliptical, just the treadmill.
