Hey there
Im just looking for any ideas on how I can more succesfully meet my nutritional needs. I understand all the theory, and I'd like to go for a 40%Protien-40%Carb-20%Fat Diet. I live in Australia, so I'm a metric man- I weigh 72Kg, am 172cm tall. I use a whey supplement that I can afford that contains almost no carbs. I dont know how to measure the amount of protien and carbs that is contained in stuff like meats, and meals that I prepare for myself. What ways can I know exactly what Im eating without it being so totally confusing. For example, if I work out my ideal calories, then derive my ideal protien needs based on my ratios, this is much different than the 1-2 grams per pound of bodyweight that I have heard is ideal... Same with the carbs. HELP! Can anybody simplify things a little for me?
I'm a hard worker, and use my brain, so any helpful advice would not be in vain!
Thanks everyone/anyone!
Jez

Per what bodyweight Bigbull...

1kg = 2.2 lbs
1in. = 2.54 cm

Look at the nutrition label or go to fitday.com

1g/lb maximum protein on a bulk. For you this is 158.4

My training regime:
Usually I work out 4-5 times per week.
Lately I have been spliting up my work, back/chest (day 1)
lower body (day 2), rest day, back/chest(day 4), lower body (day 5), complete nasty arm workout (day 6), rest day.

I do 5mins cardio to warm up, before I work out. Other cardio comes from bein active and riding ect.

When I havent got as much time I go to the gym 3 times a week and try to get in a good, heavy full body workout.

I use a whey supp straight after my workouts, and every morning, it includes about 40g protein and atleast as many carbs (tastes like shit).

Does this help?

Its made by a local producer here called Key Nutrition.
I use it because it is the cheapest product available here by far, and as far as I can tell it is of good quality and the right stuff.
Cold pressed, unflavoured 100% Whey protien

(I forgot to mention I add the carbs myself to cope with the taste)
