Hey everybody,

my name is Niels and i'm from Holland. I'm new to this site and I have a question. I'm a pretty big guy with a lot of musclemass. My only problem is my fat% is too high (about 15%) I know i need to cut but everytime i start a diet i can't seem to really put through with it. I start dieting and after a couple of days i just have to eat patato chips or something. After i eat it i feel like crap basically but i can't seem to help it. Do you have tips for me that will make dieting easier? Links to a good cutting diets are also welcome. Thanks in advance!

Niels

I'm 184 cm tall and weigh about 92 kg. I don't really have a diet right now but i wanna start from now on. Normally i eat a bowl of cereal in the morning and 6 sandwiches during the rest of the day. in the evening i eat whatever my mom makes. The real problem is in the evening. I can't resist the junkfood!

You'll get over the need to eat chips and junk food eventually.

When it comes down to it your dieting is a product of how you were fed growing up and the feelings you equated with whatever food you ate. If you grew up and your parents gave you deserts as a reward for finishing your vegetables, or if you eat chips during a sports game, you equate it with good times. Eventually you'll put it off to something else.

Sounds like he'll have to revamp his diet anyway.

During dinner i eat a lot af vegetables and i also drink a lot of water every day. As i said the problem is junkfood and dieting. I need a simple diet that works without having to weigh everyting. Just a basic diet that i can follow without starving myself because i wanna keep my muscle. Thanks for the reactions guys~!

you can try and pick up some protein snacks that can satisfy your cravings, like Instone protein pudding taste like real pudding itself. Theres protein cookies, not the best but better than breaking your diet.

Laynes sticky in the top of this section is a good read and will give you the nuts and bolts of dieting in general. As far as your cravings there is only one real answer and its not a miracle you have to use your will power and fight them off. The longer you do it the easier it will get. To get use to a diet template you may have to weigh out things but through time and repetiton you will know almost instinctively how to work within your template. IMHO dieting is the hardest thing that we do 10 times harder than training cuz its no fun.

Cutting out the junk food is not that hard. As others have said you get used to a way of eating. If you eat junk everyday it becomes normal. If you eat good food everyday it becomes normal.
If you want some crisps eat an apple instead.

I don't believe junk food taste better like a lot of people say. Quite often it's horrible. People eat it because it's easier than making a proper meal.
