Casein Protein Question

Hey guys,
I just went out and bought some ON Casein Protein for the first time; I've never used casein powder before, I normally just have a glass of 1% milk before bed. I was wondering whether it'd be okay for me to take the casein WITH milk AND 1 tbsp of peanut butter before bed? or is that too much? will I gain fat from doing this? And also, how long before I hit the bed should I take the casein? Thanks guys!

I take mine with skimmed milk mate never tried it with peanut butter tho lol

eating peanut butter is only going to make you gain fat if you are exceeding a certain number of calories in your over all diet.

heres my take...casein digests over 6-8 hours in your stomach so you are getting fed throughout the night. peanut butter would only slow down the digestion further and provide some fat in your diet. on a cut..i would not recommend it, but on a bulk thats not the worst thing to do. i would make it skim milk though.

get rid of the PB. PB is only used to reach your daily macro intakes. you should avoid it that late at night. just take it with skim milk or water before bed. also another night time thing I do is set a glass of water and some BCAA's next to my bed. Now if I wake up in the middle of the night I take them (which I usually wake up once or twice at night) Some people say to take a shake or eat a meal in the middle of the night. Personally I think it is bad idea to intentionally interupt your sleep. but thats just my opinion everyone does things differently

Is 1 scoop of ON casein(24g of protein) enough for the whole night, or should i use 2 scoops?

Well take one to start and see how you feel, if you are bulking take 2.. But I don't know your situation or routine or training schedule. Try it and adjust accordingly.

Hey Chris, I was just wondering what you meant by "how you feel"? I'm trying to bulk right now but I'm only taking 1 scoop of casein at night but I "can" take two. How do I know if taking 2 scoops is right for me?

it's a slow digesting protein, so 2 scoops will be benefitial, but leave out the peanut butter
