Which food increases insulin?

First off. What is insulin and how do we raise it?
I've read raising insulin is a MUST after workouts.

Carbohydrates raise insulin. The ones you want to eat after a workout are high gi (Glycemic Index). White bread, white rice, dextrose and many others.

The Glycemic Index

Blood sugar levels cannot go too high or too low or you will have problems. When blood sugar gets too high insulin is secreted to rush the sugar to the tissue and fill up glycogen stores.

When blood sugar reaches approx. 70mg/dl glucagon is secreted and raises it.

The reason bb's increase want increased insulin post-workout is to rush nutrients to the tissues and refill glycogen stores.

You can just grab some white rice cakes from your local store. Or you can do what I do, and purchase some Kwick Karb from Nutraplanet and just add it into your postworkout shake

Agree. I eat my banana with my meal prior to preworkout. Or in the morning. SOmetimes both. Boost that potassium up.
But you really dont need it postworkout.
Just the simple carbs, & protein. You can also add other supps like creatine & BCAA.
