Will someone recommend me a good protein shake to have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? I've tried so much research on whey and casein.

Everyone here seems to rather have 100% whey only in their protein shake. On menshealth.com, they suggested a protein shake that contains whey + casein as well. But I also went to a local nutrition store and they only carry whey protein shakes. The worker there told me that most people use whey protein shakes only and not casein. Will someone help me with my indecisiveness? I'm embarrass now.

I just don't know if I should just buy whey only protein shake or a protein shake that contains whey + casein

My knowledge so far:
whey = fast digestion, casein = slow digestion

well... whey = fast digestion...casein = slow digestion

what is protein used for? growth and repair, so you will use whey when you need to repiar quickly ie before, during or just after a workout.

casein should be used when you dont need it to act quickly ie whilt you are sleeping

You shouldn't be having protein shakes for breakfast lunch and dinner. Your protein should come primarily from solid food (chicken, fish, egg whites, lean steak, etc.) Leave the shakes for before and after workouts, first thing in the morning, and before bed. But make sure that you're getting enough protein from solid food.

Thanks guys, I feel a lot more comfortable now. Just one last stupid question, how do I know what's a good protein shake to buy? Is it better to buy them through online or local retailers is fine too?

Online is usually cheaper. But the vitamin shoppe sell a 10lb bag of 100% whey(optimum nutrition) for a decent price.

Best protein imo goes as follows:
1. Optimum nutrition 100%whey
2. Eas 100%whey
3. Bsn true mass(Meal replacement)

There are many other companys but the #1,2 are the ones most people will suggest.

Usually it's best to get in whole foods for protein, thats true. But there are certain circumstances where someone needs to get in a protein shake.

1. Lack of ability to go out and buy food, IE during work (if the person couldn't pack in food)

2. With higher protein requirments. Even around the 250
gram intake of protein its hard to get it all through solid foods, and it is also easier to drink down a protein shake than to eat something.
