When should I take a simple carb like a rice cake - pre or post workout? I sa rice cake better than any other simple acrb like white rice before working out? Is brown rice maybe better pre-workout? Any info on this would be great :)

Pre workout - Complex carbs. Brown rice or rolled oatmeal for example

Post workout - Simple carbs. White rice, rice cakes, pure fruit juice, honey.

Brown rice have complex carbs, they give you energy long term. White rice have simple carbs, give energy right away, and spike insulin levels. Which has some benefits, but really only good post workout. Since Insulin causes your body to hold fat
