In a recent article of a famous mag ,it speaks about a test that says that when we eat high glycemic carbs mixed with fat,for example a baked potatoe mixed w/ olive oil or butter ..contrary to the popular belief that this combination of fat-carb is a "no-no" ..that actually the spuds were digested at a much slower rate and the blodd glucose and insulin levels were much lower. The effects were more pronounced when the fat was eaten before the potatoes ,that we want only to spike insulin right after a hard workout so to eat only carbs without fat ..

do u think its true that fat eaten right before carbs or even at the same time diminish insulin spike ?

cuz if its true damn it its a great strategy !! ..regardless u want to look good on the beach or for a bodybuilding contest ..

Fat slows down digestion, this is one of the main reasons you don't eat fat with a post workout meal. The thing is, the amount of fat you would have to eat to make high glycemic foods managable would probably be overkill. So its not that good of an idea to do and it would probably hurt you more in the long run.

You can eat quick digesting carbs with breakfast as well.

They stated in flex that it would be a good idea to take simple carbs with healthy fats if you had no complex carb option. ex: white bread with olive oil

its the glycemic load.

This is part of the reason why the glycemic index isn't as important as once thought

Flex is to bodybuilding information as the hokey pokey is to modern dance. Flex isn't a reliable source to get information from at all. They will also tell you that you need to cycle water intake for a competition.

What is the chance that a bodybuilder won't have something of a complex carb? Sure its a possibility, but its not a good one. They would need to include some sort of scale to give you an idea for how long it takes a simple carb to digest with however much fat at any rate.

If someone were to eat a healthy fat with a simple sugar, how much fat to sugar? They exclude vital information like this.

I'm not backing up their claim, I'm just stating it.

Do not eat fats after your workout. Especially ones with fiber. That will diminish the rate at which your carbs burn, resisting the insulin spike. You want the protein and carbs to absorb asap post workout.
