Protein + Carbohydrates = bodyfat!!??

I was recently reading up on some dieting tips and stumbled across 'old-school, Golden-Age principles' by Vince Gironda, in which he claims that "Carbohydrates mixed with protein turn to fat.", and to "Never mix protein fat, and carbohydrates at the same meal. They do not digest in the same medium."
These seem to be contradictory to many articles i have read concerning balancing meals and more specifically post w/o and breakfeast meals, and was wondering if there is any truth in these claims, and was also wondering if following these principles, i can lower bf%???
Any input would be appreciated.

it's actually partially right, in that you should have either protien and carbs or protein and fat in meals, not all three and never just a carb and fat meal. The reason for this is that carbs spike insulin and this can lead to the fats being stored as adipose tissue.

how is that possible(to not have all three)? even if you eat a simple protein/carb meal like say...chicken & rice, surely there is gonna be some fat in there naturally? it's as good as impossible to avoid?! maybe i'm missing something here.....

the point is not to have a signifigant ammount of fat in those meals and get your fat macros in meals without carbs. of course there will be some slippage, but you shouldn't have added fat, like say PB, olive oil or fish oil as the insulin spike will shuttle that into adipose tissue.

I have to disagree with you here Mindstar. All carbs don't cause an insulin "spike." Different carbs raise insulin differently; as do the amount of carbs eaten.
