Right before I go to sleep I always have 1 percent milk, there is no limit to when you should stop eating time wise really. As long as you eat the amount your supposed to you'll be fine.

lbj how much casein do you use in your bedtime shake? I've been just using one scoop (23g), that sound about right or more?

it depends on whether you had a training day & how big you are...but i use 2 scoops during cutting phase & a full 3 scoops (45g) in bulking season...on off days i only use 1 scoop on or off season...

i work late, so when i come home i usually have some tuna [raw] with a salad, then some fruit for desert. that's at about 1230 at night sometimes. then i'll have my casein at 2, which is 40 something grams of protein [2 scoops].

I take a casein protein shake (made with water - 46g prot) very last thing. Like right between my 2nd and 3rd set of sleeping pills.

I'm just kidding about the sleeping pills.

No I'm not.

Does anybody know how to shut up multiple personalities, other than calling for an emergency weekend (aka exPENsive) shrink visit?

Seriously, though - when I was a porker, I'd have ice cream at night. Now, with Optimum Nutrition 100% Casein Protein (supreme chocolate flavor) mixed just with cold water - I don't feel in the least bit deprived. (depraved maybe, but deprived - no).

Now I may be doing this all wrong, but I believe that slow digesting protein before bed is real important whether you're bulking or cutting, to maintain your muscle mass. Who knows? I just figure, as long as I keep gaining more lean mass than BF, or losing more BF than LBM, I'm alright. Fortunately, I'm on a roll of gaining almost exactly the same amount of muscle as the amount of fat that I'm losing each weak. So my weight is maintaining the same, but the distribution is much more to my liking.
