Leans cuts of meat, chicken breasts, turkey breasts, eggs, apples, strawberries, rolled oatmeal, rice cakes, whole wheat bread.

Get two 1 gallon bottles of water, refill them as needed. I always keep one half frozen bottle in the freezer.

Lol, I was like that not long ago. Set out on a shopping trip to change my lifestyle etc., and I just stood in the middle of the grocery store completely blank. After a few weeks of repetitive trips, and refining the list, I eventually got to the point where I could mix it up weekly, without seeing a variation in results.

But like the other doods said, carbs like potatoes, rice cakes, brown rice, pasta, oats etc. Lotsa veg (green veggies ftw), and lean meats like chicken fillets, lean steak , tuna etc. Those are the basics.

Dont forget peanut butter and some form of nuts

Here's a nifty shopping trick. I don't know how the grocery stores are set up elsewhere in the world, but here (USA) they are almost all set up the same.

When you go in the store, stick to the perimeter. (sp?) You'll find the deli, the fresh fruits & vegetables & the dairy products around the edges of the store. Almost EVERYTHING in the middle (up and down all of the aisles) is crap. It's over-processed, loaded with salt, sugar & fat. There are a few exceptions, from time to time, but I find that if I stay out of the aisles, I take less time, spend less money & end up coming home with foods that are far more nutrient dense than I otherwise would have.

In England they are for ever moving stuff around. It forces you to look around the shop and stay there longer. One of the tricks they use to get you to buy more.
