Here are the Navy's requirements:
First they use weight and then they use body fat. So you could exceed the weight requirement as long as your body fat is below 22%. The weight limit for a new recruit who is 6' 1" is 206 lbs. In all branches of the military you do large amounts of running and other endurance activities so you want to be as lean as possible.
So at the very least you need to lose 34lbs. Personally though I think 190lbs would be a great weight to go in at.
Your baseline caloric intake (which you will need to monitor) is: 3360
You want to eat every 3.5 - 5 hours.
YOU NEED TO GET YOUR BODY FAT DETERMINED!! HAVE THE PERSON DO PREFERABLY A 7 SITE TEST AND PERFORM IT 5 TIMES. So you will end up with 35 measurements.
Take the average of these measurements.
I started to go through Layne's pre contest guide and do everything but I will leave the rest up to you. I think you will do the rest just fine.
