I say water as first choice, green tea (iced) as second choice. If a soda you must have, use Fresca. 1 can has 0 carbs, fats, protein, etc. & only 35mg of sodium. I hate diet sodas - they leave me feeling more thirsty than I was before I drank them (sodium sacharine). With Fresca, however, it tastes like I'm having a treat - even though there is no cheating involved.
As for juices - Unless you have a citrus tree in the back yard (I have orange, lemon & grapefruit (white, but still sweet)) you are mostly going to get sugar. And it's going to be processed to death. Instead of juice, I think the general consensus is to eat the whole fruit so that you get the fiber as well as the natural sugars.
