Im 16, about 6 foot, been training for 7months. Decided to get my diet sorted, my BMR is quite low i think and i dont get a huge amount of cardio but do quite a bit when i can.
So here is what i can get away with on a normal day:

7:20 80g Oats with Protien shake + 8g creatine, 1 apple, 1 grapefruit, multivit tab

11:00 Protien shake with 60g Oats

1:00 140g chicken breast + 1 apple

4:00 1 apple
workout
6:00 protien shake + 140g chicken breast

8:00 50-100g steak with 40g brown rice

10:00 100g tuna steak with onion and some salad dressing

is this alright? please post opinions

the oats are very filling, i would look for a different source of carbs if appetite is a problem, also u are not taking in many fats at all - add some peanut butter or some oils to ur diet (fats are not evil). uve only been training 7months there is no point taking creatine at this stage imo, and 8g seems excessive especially at ur bodyweight

u basically have no carbs after 1pm either!!! and no carbs post workout, after training ur body craves simple sugars u really need like 50g of simple sugar(glucose/dextose perferably)...and there is no need for a protein shake and a chicken breast in the same feed ur body can only assimulate so much at one time

u are basically eating 60% protein 30% carbs 10% fat u should be look for more like 20% 60% 20% or so (25g protein 6 times a day 50g carbs 6 time a day simple sugars post workout and like 50g of fat a day)

Yeah about the fat, well i read the side of the dressing that i put on the tuna and it says its 100% olive oil so i thought id prolly get it from there, as for sugar, i try to get it from fruit but i heard it spikes the metabolism and slows it down. I know people talk about eating carbs such as bread etc but whenever i eat that kind of "doughy" carb i wake up in the morning to see a shitload of fat stuck to my ass and legs :s

YouTube - mike mentzer nutrition

The diet is basic. What they teach in school. When lifting weights to gain muscle you simply eat more of everything.

If he is right then why did he die so early? i genuinely dont know(im not suggesting that a balanced diet kills you just questioning his line of thought)

If you are 6' tall and only weigh 140 pounds then you shouldn't worry about eating clean or taking the right supplements or seeing fat on your legs (how much fat can you have at 140 pounds), you should just eat and eat and eat...and train. If you are serious about adding muscle to your frame then you need the mass to do it and the only way to achieve that is by eating alot of food. I'm not saying that you should go on the McDonalds diet but dont be so critical about what you are eating.

Im eating more now, but training isnt quite as frequent any more as i dont want it to hinder study, i plan to continue with supplements but to add more starch carbs( i like sweet potatoe:). I'll keep a record of whats going on with my body ( i heard that helps).

As for the Mike Mentzer issue, i read more into his history, apparently he after being beaten by Arnold in the 1980 olympia (video on the home page) he became depressed, claiming till the day he died that the contest had been rigged. He then became addicted to Amphetamines, apparently the sent him over the edge and he became crazy. Im pretty sure it was his use of drugs during this time that had something to do with it. His brother also died 2 days after finding him dead in his apartment. He was the bodybuilder whom first created the Heavy Intensity Training that Dorian yates based his Blood and Guts training on.

You should check out the Natural bodybuilding forum for tips on Diet and training or ask Layne Norton (aka. str8flexed) he has a lifetime of knowledge. I didn't mean to critisize your eating habits but for your size you should weigh a lot more than you do, somebody 6' tall should weigh at least 165-180 pounds, I'm 6'2" and 245 pounds natural. By the way, are you taking sweet potatoes because you like them or because of their ability to naturally increase testosterone a little bit?

Hem because i like them although i like the sound of testerone increasing food .
As for my size, like the last year i developed an eating disorder and dropped from 12 stone( about 170 pounds) down to 8 and a half ( 120 or so), since then i have put alot of weight on my arms back and a little chest but my legs are still very thin but slowly getting there.
But just to fuck this all up eariler today, when training at home in the garage i just dropped 60kg on my neck as my right shoulder buckled for some reason, so now im sitin here in agony not being able to move my neck or shoulder much trying to decide whether or not to ask to go see the doctor. :S

how old are u, man?? ur weight seems dangerous if u are 6 foot tall and are an adult. that means u have a BMI under 20 as an adult (if u are an adult) and that is dangerous.
